The Students Union (Österreichische HochschülerInnenschaft - ÖH) is the official representation for all students in Austria and all students are automatically a member. You'll have a third-party and an accident insurance included in the ÖH membership fee (more about this insurance read here - in german only). Basically, all injuries and damages which can arise under your study are covered (e.g. at University, on the direct way to University, ..).

At University of Graz, the local students union is divided in 15 departments.
